MAV EXPERIENCE

Visiting the MAV is an experience in every sense because you will be projected on a journey through time, accompanied by virtual guides.

You will see the ancient Roman cities, you will listen to the voices of the inhabitants of Herculaneum, you will touch the virtual artifacts with your hand, you will smell the scents of the gardens of Villa dei Papiri, you will taste the food that the ancient inhabitants ate.

MAV + HERCULANEUM EXCAVATIONS

THE ANCIENT HERCULANEUM
An itinerary between past and future that will allow students and teachers to deepen their knowledge
knowledge of ancient Herculaneum. A guide will accompany you to the archaeological site declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco and in perfect condition to learn the history of the Roman city.

After the visit, students will move to the Mav where, through multimedia installations and virtual 3D reconstructions, they will experience an immersive experience that will project them on a suggestive journey into the past.

A journey between archeology and technology, between art and innovation thanks to which history will never seem the same.

MAV + POMPEII EXCAVATIONS

A DAY IN POMPEII
Discovering an exceptional archaeological testimony: the city of Pompeii. Guided by an archaeologist, students and teachers will begin a journey into the heart of the ancient city retracing its centuries-old streets. They will enter the forum, admire the temples, shops, craft shops, patrician residences, spas and theaters, thus tracing the daily life of the inhabitants of the Vesuvian area in Roman times. After the visit, the students will move to the Mav where, through multimedia installations and virtual 3D reconstructions, they will deepen the times faced during the visit to Pompeii, living an immersive experience that will project them on an evocative journey between archeology and technology, between art and innovation.

MAVMANN

FROM REAL TO VIRTUAL

At the Virtual Archaeological Museum, students will be involved in a fascinating journey through time, reliving, thanks to virtual technology and 3D graphics, the splendor of the city of Herculaneum and the Vesuvian area, as well as the reconstructions of the major Roman monuments in Campania. At the end of the visit, an archaeologist will lead the students on a visit to the National Archaeological Museum where, in an exciting itinerary, the main collections of the Museum will be shown, allowing students to relocate the objects in that known virtual reality, through which they were able to see places and landscapes of provenance of the finds.

MAV + OPLONTI

LA VILLA DI POPPEA

L’eccezionale complesso della Villa di Poppea ad Oplonti offre l’occasione per conoscere una residenza imperiale, attribuita a Poppea, moglie di Nerone e per questo sontuosa e ricca di pitture, mosaici, giardini.

Il racconto dell’archeologo condurrà i visitatori alla scoperta di questo originale complesso, così ben conservato e rappresentativo di una certa classe aristocratica che sceglieva l’area vesuviana come luogo di svago.

Dopo la visita, gli studenti si sposteranno al MAV dove, con l’ausilio della tecnologia, potranno rivivere lo splendore delle antiche città vesuviane così come si presentavano prima dell’eruzione del 79 d.C.
